What is the web crawling limitation?
The only limitation is based on your database capacity.
Can I index an entire folder and does ASE search recursivley?
Yes. Only add the path to your directory and ASE indexes the entire tree, recursively.
How can your search engine be so cheap compared to others? Does it lack functionality?
The reason is simple. We develop for 100% web-based environments. No expensive compiler. No
OS specific development and a team of highly motivated developers that tries to establish
an excellent technology for a reasonable price.
Do you offer consulting to help integrating ASE in a very complex envirnment?
ASE is easy and fast to deploy and usually doesn't need consulting, but if your environment
is very complex or you need to change the source code, we can help. Please contact sales@astatnet.com
and ask for a quote.
We have an environment with thousands of documents. How long does it take to index them?
It all depends on the CPU, memory and database layout. We can do a complementary sizing to give
you a better idea of ASE and performance.
When I login and press the PayPal payment button I get an error message.
Please check your browser's security settings and allow cookies from PayPal.
I get an "php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Temporary failure in name resolution in ..." message
If you're having problems with fopen("url...") but you can run 'host url' in a shell window and get the correct lookup,
you can also switch DNS servers, which confuses apache (and hence PHP) - meaning that you can't look up hosts from
within PHP, even though you *can* from the commandline.... The short-term solution is to restart apache.
I get "Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /webpage/search/includes/search_functions.php on line 126"
when using the indexer.
You forgot to run start-queue before using the indexer. Please use the automatic indexer, or follow the order.
I got "variable not defined" errors after installing the system?
Make sure that in your php.ini file you have register_globals = On
php.ini
